Olympus adjusts digital camera prices
Olympus America Inc., Digital & Imaging Systems Group, a leading consumer digital camera manufacturer, today announced price adjustments for their award-winning digital camera line, which has garnered over 47 awards in less than a year, 4 of which are entire product line awards.
The D-220L, a low-cost point and shoot digital camera, was originally introduced on July 28, 1997 for $499 with a resolution of 640 x 480 and video out capabilities, a clear 2" LCD, optical and LCD viewfinders, and convenient SmartMedia removable memory. The D-220L won numerous accolades, including Family Photo's Editor's Choice and Equip Magazine's Best Value. The D-220L now has a street price of $299.
The higher resolution D-320L was introduced on the same date for $699. The D-320L point and shoot digital camera shares the design and feature set of its sibling D-220L and touts a 1024 x 768 image resolution. In addition, Olympus America Inc. is currently offering a FREE FlashPath floppy disk adapter with every purchase of a D-320L digital camera (a $99.00 value), which makes any Olympus SmartMedia digital camera floppy disk compatible. The D-320L has received 15 awards, among them the prestigious PC Computing MVP Award, Home Office Computing Best Buy, Petersen's PHOTOgraphic Editor's Choice, and Macworld's Best of Show. The D-320L now has a street price of $499.
The D-500L's SLR styling and exceptional zoom lens has impressed critics. In addition to its beautiful, lightweight design and superior image quality, the D-500L has an image resolution of 1024 x 768, 3x zoom lens, through-the-lens viewing, quick focus modes and intelligent flash. The D-500L was introduced for $899 on September 9, 1997 and has won awards such as PC Magazine's Editor's Choice, PC Graphics & Video's Top Product, and C/Net Buy It! rating.
